Where can you find houses that are in Pre-forclosure (lis-penden) that is public record?

I find sites that are asking for a monthly fee, but I think that it is a matter of public record?
Any information that you have would be very helpful.

Some municipal websites have that information posted for free. Try this site of free foreclosure resources too:

    Best of luck.

A lis pendens is usually recorded with the county recorder of deeds. Check with the county to find out the best way to obtain the information. Most counties require some notice of publication when th l is is filed and the recorders office can probably let you know where the notices are usually published (often times lawyers use a law bulletin for publication because it is much cheaper than using the newspapers).

You can check your state newspaper. Usually, there is a section around the classified ads. Or, check with the county courthouse. They usually have a file of the current foreclosures.
